Rancho Sin Vacas

2 bedrooms | 3 queen size beds, 1 full bathroom

The Rancho is a beautiful slice of Hanna, Utah ... comprising of 12 acres on either side of the North Fork of the Duchesne River. Located at the base of Ashley National Forest and only 78 miles east of Salt Lake City. The cabin has been upgraded…kitchen, bedrooms, dining, living room, 2 fireplaces, big front porch, fire pit…with year round access! The cantilevered bedroom is the only legal legal structure over the Duchesne River in its entirety! I have 2 ponds, 2 canals, and the river roughly splits the property in half. I have 3 fishing poles on my property…proudly experienced family getaways or romantic staycations retreats for 24 years!

The Property

  • "If I could give this place 1,000 stars I would. This was hands-down the best Airbnb we have ever stayed in. The house was comfortable and clean, the property was gorgeous, and Carl was the kindest, most attentive host ever! He made sure that we had all that we needed, including a brand new crockpot for the dinner I had planned. My little kids had a blast and loved all that there was to see and do. Carl's love and pride for his property is contagious, and we cannot wait to be back again!"

  • "Wow, Rancho Sin Vacas- what a magical place! Once you enter the property, it feels like you've stepped into a different dimension in another universe. One that floods you with feelings of joy, peace, contentment and giddiness. A relaxing respite from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. There's so much to do there, the options are endless! And all with the constant chatter of the bubbling river as a soothing soundtrack to accompany your stay. No reason to even leave the ranch for something to do. And hard to leave when your time there comes to a close. All made possible by Carl, who has clearly spent many years thoughtfully curating a space where nature can be enjoyed and appreciated in it's fullness. Carl is a delight. His passion for Rancho is palpable and contagious. Getting a tour of the property from him when we arrived was one of the highlights of our stay. He was very communicative from beginning to end and our comfort seemed of the utmost importance to him. This is all just a glimpse of my experience. You must go, see and experience for yourself to discover the plentitude of beauty in all it's glorious, intuitively cultivated detail. Can't wait to go back! (:"

  • Carl is a fantastic, attentive host, and ensured our family had access to the myriad of activities on the property -- sledding, ice skating, feeding llamas, eagle and beaver spotting, and a warm cozy fire and sleeping arrangements. We cannot wait to book again to sample the property in the spring/summertime!

  • We had the BEST time at Carl's place! This place is exactly what we needed after months of quarantine. The place is very secluded, which made for a very relaxing stay. My husband enjoyed fishing the river, while I enjoyed working on my tan! The house is very clean and the kitchen is well stocked. There's a closet full of pots and pans... Yes a closet! One of our favorite spots, and where we spent most of our time, was the patio. The furniture is so comfortable and the best place to have your coffee in the morning. Carl was very friendly and accommodating. We couldn't have asked for a better stay!

  • Carl’s place was a welcome break from the city. We were looking for a change of scenery after four months of social distancing and you could definitely relax and just be. Carl was so responsive and accommodating. He made sure we had everything we needed and more. We fished, tubed and hiked - the kids were in heaven. The house was clean and comfortable and was very well appointed. Thank you Carl for a wonderful stay.

  • When I was originally booking this cabin I thought the price was a bit steep, but upon arriving I realized this was so much more than a cabin... this was an experience. There was not a single detail Carl hadn't thought of it and words can't even begin to explain how amazing this trip was! I brought all 3 of my dogs and they couldn't have possibly had more fun than they did this day! They played with the llamas, and the entire property is fenced so they were able to run free! There is a HUGE amazing treehouse you can go into that is so unique! There is a cabin on the river, we opened all of the windows and slept with the sound of the river and the river breeze going over our faces, it was so peaceful! You can go into the river and fish, or there is a huge pond that he has stocked with fish! There is endless amounts of things to do at this cabin. Carl also has wi-fi set up, but trust me... with as much fun as you're going to have, you won't even want to look at your phone other than to take photos because this will be a trip you never forget! Carl is an incredible host and is always available when he's needed, but you'll likely not see him after he shows you around. He is the perfect host! I cannot WAIT to come back!

  • Very cool location right on the Duchesne River! The amenities were top notch and the beds and pillows were extremely comfortable. It is very neat being able to listen to the river run while sleeping in the room that overhangs the river. Owner was available for anything that we needed and was very helpful with any questions we had. I caught several trout the next morning right beside the room that I slept in over the river. Overall great experience for us!
